Store Front Design

Hey peeps :D Gonna share about what I've done for my Principles and Practices of Interactive Media's first assignment !

So, we are required to design a store front interactive touch screen installation to show the unique identity of a brand in Sunway Pyramid. In my case, I needed to select one of the optical stores in Pyramid.

And Tada! I chose Focus Point!

After I've done my research, I think the tagline ' No Fakes, Only Originals.' in their posters is quite interesting and that is what differentiates Focus Point from other optical stores.

Again, Tada! I decided to work on the store front according to this unique identity. F.P. launched ' Go Original' campaign to educate the consumers about the advantages of buying and using original eye-‐care products. It also educated the consumers about the harms of using counterfeits because some counterfeits are not well designed and might cause serious vision problems.Hence, the idea of comparisons of  the facts of fake and original eye-ware came to me.

I designed 3 sets of short interactive games to show the compare the fakes and originals based on durability of frames, lenses and the ability of UV protection.

Also got to experiment with the application of different gesture commands such as tapping, dragging & spreading in it.

Colour scheme

Main : Red and Black ( identity colours )
Sub: Grey, Blue , Yellow ( Based on their interior design colour scheme )

Here we go >

Intro / Idle page: The cases will open randomly and user can tap on any opened case to start the whole experience.

It will proceed to the game set according to the chosen case.
( inspired by whack-a-mole / hit-a-mole game )

# Durability of lens

I didn't mention how many times the user should tap, but after 30 taps, the lens on the left will shatter into pieces.

Then, I will reveal which side is the fake/ original.

Brand message & brand presence

If the user chooses ' Next Mission' , it will back to the mission choosing page.

# Durability of frame

# UV protection

Counterfeits might not have the ability to protect our eyes from harmful UV rays.

The End of the Store front game !

Realised all the fakes are on the left?
And all the brand message are presented in red & black shades?
Contrast effect on left and right background ?

I wanna make the message clearer and easier to be delivered, more predictable because after all it is still a store front design to deliver the brand message to the user. Making the entire experience more simple, short and clear will ensure the user understand the content effectively.

fyi, these are just the interface designs. It's not coded application.

Well, that's all for PPIM :D

Feel free to comment and share your thoughts <3

And I didn't sleep at all the night before this submission HAHA
but I am satisfied with the result thou!

Nights!
